Choosing a major or a future career can feel overwhelming, especially when students have little opportunity to experience the real working world. That’s why The Dewey Schools organizes its annual Career Internship Programfor Grade 10 and 11 students, giving them firsthand exposure to different professions and helping them make more confident decisions about their future academic and career paths.
The program is professionally supported by Educo Education Cooperation Joint Stock Company, a member of the Edufit Education Group. Guided by industry professionals from various fields, Dewey students spend an entire week immersed in a real workplace. From observing how departments collaborate to taking ownership of assigned tasks, they gradually develop a clearer understanding of the responsibilities, mindset, and skills required in a professional environment.
In the Communications department, students explore the full journey of developing and executing a campaign—from identifying target audiences and generating creative ideas to planning and implementation. Along the way, they discover that impactful communication is driven not only by creativity but also by strategic thinking, collaboration, and careful preparation.
Meanwhile, the Human Resources department offers students a fresh perspective on how organizations recruit, develop, and support their people. From building candidate profiles and analyzing hiring needs to designing training programs and employee engagement initiatives, every task highlights the vital role people play in an organization’s growth and long-term success.
One of the program’s highlights is a series of workplace simulation activities, where students apply what they have learned to tackle real-world business challenges. Whether developing a brand strategy, solving HR scenarios, assigning responsibilities, or collaborating toward shared goals, students naturally strengthen their problem-solving skills, teamwork, and sense of responsibility through hands-on experience.
“This internship program has given us incredibly valuable experiences. Working on a simulated project allowed us to put our ideas into practice and confidently showcase both our skills and our way of thinking. It’s also a great foundation that will help us demonstrate our capabilities when we eventually enter the professional world,” shared Linh Nhi, a Grade 11 student from Orlando House at Dewey Tay Ho Tay.
Mr. Nguyen Trong Tung, Career Guidance Advisor at The Dewey Schools, emphasized that career guidance at Dewey doesn’t begin with the question, “What career do you want to pursue?” Instead, it begins by helping students understand themselves, explore different professions, and evaluate how well their strengths align with their future aspirations. Every real-world experience becomes another meaningful step toward making informed and confident decisions about their academic and career journeys.
