According to the World Wildlife Fund’s (WWF) Living Planet Report 2020, vertebrate populations have declined by 68% over the past 50 years. The 2024 report by the United Nations Environment Programme’s (UNEP) World Conservation Monitoring Centre highlights that over one-fifth of the world’s migratory species are facing extinction, with 44% of populations in decline.
In response to these alarming statistics, we organized an exhibition titled “Protecting Endangered Animals.” Through this meaningful event, we aim to contribute to raising awareness about protecting the habitats of these rare animals.
On May 21st, our exhibition attracted significant attention from parents, teachers, and fellow students. We had the opportunity to share valuable and interesting information about the characteristics, behaviors, and habitats of several rare animals, including the Hoan Kiem turtle, red panda, blue whale, and polar bear.
Our research revealed that deforestation, illegal hunting, and climate change are the main factors pushing these wild animals to the brink of extinction. Therefore, raising awareness about environmental protection, biodiversity conservation, and the preservation of rare animals is crucial.
Not only did this project help us gain extensive knowledge about these animals, but it was also a profoundly meaningful and enjoyable experience for us. With the message: “Let’s protect these rare animals before it’s too late,” we hope to garner the support of parents, teachers, and friends. We believe that every small action we take contributes positively to nature conservation, biodiversity preservation, and the protection of wildlife.
