May at Dewey is not only filled with the sound of cicadas and the golden glow of summer sunshine, but also with tight hugs, proud smiles, and tears of growth. Last week, the Graduation Ceremonies for Grade 5 and Grade 9 TDSers took place in an atmosphere full of emotions, marking a meaningful milestone of transition.

Looking back on the journey they have gone through, each age group stood before a new chapter with different emotions. While Grade 5 students are stepping out of the world of childhood, ready to embrace the exciting horizons of middle school, Grade 9 students carry themselves with confidence and maturity after four years of growth under this familiar roof. No matter which milestone they are at, what they share today is confidence, independent thinking, and courageous hearts ready to face the challenges ahead. The graduation certificate in their hands is proof of a journey filled with perseverance and effort, affirming that they have truly grown up and are now ready to walk on their own path.

At the ceremony, every TDSer cherished what may be the most valuable achievement of all: becoming a better version of themselves. They understand that growth is never something achieved overnight, but a journey shaped through every lesson, every stumble, and every moment of rising stronger than before. It is found in late nights spent studying, in the courage to step out of comfort zones, and in learning how to listen, share, and mature through meaningful experiences at Dewey.
That is why the entire hall seemed to pause during the heartfelt words of gratitude. Those bows of appreciation were dedicated to teachers — the silent guides who have devoted themselves to their students — while warm hugs were shared with parents, the strongest pillars of unconditional love and support. Bouquets of flowers were given not only as gifts, but also as promises to continue living with kindness and responsibility, just as Dewey has nurtured them to do.

Ahead lies a brand new journey filled with opportunities as well as unexpected challenges. But with courage, resilience, and determination, every distant horizon can one day be conquered. May all of you continue to hold onto your passion for learning, your warm hearts, and your unwavering belief in yourselves. Keep moving forward bravely, because the vast world ahead is waiting for the brilliant footprints you are about to leave behind.
