Recently, the leadership team of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme at The Dewey Schools attended the IB Global Conference held in Mumbai, India. As the largest gathering of IB educators in the Asia–Pacific region, the conference brought together more than 1,000 leading education experts from around the world. Dewey’s presence at this prestigious event underscores its strong commitment to international educational standards, as well as its continuous efforts to update and enhance teaching quality in alignment with the rigorous expectations of the global IB framework.
Centered around the theme “Shared Learning, Shared Futures,” the conference explored key transformations shaping modern education. Throughout the event, Dewey’s leadership team actively engaged in in-depth discussions on designing a coherent, vertically aligned curriculum across IB programmes (PYP, MYP, DP, CP), fostering interdisciplinary learning, and redefining teaching approaches to empower student agency. In parallel, the delegation participated in specialized sessions addressing core areas that directly support the holistic development of IB learners, including the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in education, the development of Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills, and the promotion of student well-being.
Reflecting on the significance of the conference, Mr. Nguyễn Bảo Trọng – Director of the IB Programme at Dewey – emphasized that, as IB education continues to shift from knowledge transmission to the development of competencies, critical thinking, and learner identity, staying updated with global trends and learning from successful international models is essential. The conference not only provided valuable networking opportunities but also enabled Dewey to gain strategic insights from leading global education experts, further enhancing the School’s IB programme.
