The Skittles Round of the 2025 World Scholar’s Cup – an international academic competition for students aged 9 to 11 – has recently concluded, leaving behind a whirlwind of emotions and unforgettable moments. With a modern educational philosophy and a strong track record in previous seasons, The Dewey Schools was honored to host the Hanoi leg of the competition.
Over two dynamic days of competition, Dewey students (TDSers) challenged themselves, engaged in spirited debates, and pushed their personal boundaries. They learned to listen, collaborate, and build innovative ideas together. Continuing the success of previous rounds, TDSers delivered an outstanding performance, bringing home 58 medals, including 12 Golds, 17 Silvers, and 29 other medals and individual awards. This remarkable achievement reaffirms Dewey’s standing on the international academic stage.
This year’s Skittles Round attracted over 400 students from 33 schools across Hanoi. The event featured six diverse categories – including team debate, collaborative writing, the Scholars Challenge, and team bowl – all conducted entirely in English. More than just an intellectual playground, the World Scholar’s Cup offers TDSers valuable opportunities to learn, grow, and gain a competitive edge for their academic portfolios.
These impressive results are the fruit of continuous effort and rigorous training by our young scholars, showcasing their exceptional English proficiency, interdisciplinary thinking, and confident performance under pressure. Congratulations to our brave young Dewey “warriors” for their stellar achievements at the 2025 World Scholar’s Cup. While the Skittles Round has come to an end, a new journey has just begun. Beyond medals and accolades, the most valuable reward is the personal growth – becoming bolder, more confident, and ever ready to embrace new challenges ahead!
