Competing among more than 500 young swimmers representing 30 provinces and cities across Vietnam, Nguyen Tran Huy Quan (Class 4 Tahiti, Dewey Hai Phong) proudly earned a Bronze Medal in the Mixed 4×50m Freestyle Relay (Ages 9–11) at the 2026 National School Swimming Championship, held in Lam Dong Province.

As one of the youngest athletes in the competition, Huy Quan faced many opponents with advantages in both physical development and competitive experience. Nevertheless, through remarkable composure, excellent technical control, and unwavering determination, he delivered an outstanding performance in every event.

According to Nguyen Thanh Dat, Physical Education Teacher and Swimming Coach at Dewey Hai Phong, who has accompanied Huy Quan throughout his training journey: “Huy Quan finished 11th overall in the Boys’ 50m Freestyle and 7th overall in the Boys’ 100m Freestyle. At present, he is the highest-performing 10-year-old swimmer in Northern Vietnam.”
Sharing their thoughts after the competition, Huy Quan’s family expressed: “To us, this medal represents not only the reward for countless hours of dedicated training but also a valuable lesson in perseverance, discipline, and never giving up. We sincerely thank the teachers at Dewey Hai Phong for their continuous encouragement and support, enabling our child to pursue both academic excellence and a passion for swimming. We hope this achievement will inspire Huy Quan to keep striving on the journey ahead.”
Every competition is an opportunity to push beyond one’s limits. Every finish line marks another milestone of growth. The Dewey Schools Hai Phong warmly congratulates Huy Quan on this remarkable national achievement and believes it will serve as a strong foundation for him to continue reaching greater heights, conquering new challenges in the pool, and inspiring the Dewey community with his resilient sporting spirit.
