“Why are yellow and red vegetables good for the eyes?” or “What problems can vitamin D deficiency cause?” – These useful questions were fully answered at the School Nutrition Seminar at The Dewey Schools Ocean Park, led by Associate Professor, Doctor Bùi Thị Nhung, former Head of the School Nutrition and Profession Department at the National Institute of Nutrition.
During the seminar, Dr. Bùi Thị Nhung shared practical and easy-to-understand knowledge that was very relatable for students. The TDSers who attended the seminar not only learned but also had hands-on experiences through engaging interactive games. The students eagerly answered questions from the doctor, confidently listing healthy vegetables and unhealthy foods like fried foods and soft drinks.
Dr. Bùi Thị Nhung particularly emphasized: “The main and snack meals at The Dewey Schools are designed to be nutritionally balanced, providing the necessary minerals and vitamins for the body. You should add plenty of green vegetables, limit sugary drinks, and maintain a regular exercise routine to protect your health, thus maintaining a balanced and reasonable diet.”
Student Đỗ Minh Anh (9 Praha) shared after the seminar: “My friends and I really like fried foods, bubble tea, or sugary drinks, but today the doctor pointed out the huge amount of sugar in each bottle of soda and the harmful effects of drinking sugary drinks. Therefore, I’ve decided to change my habits and switch to drinking pure water to protect my health.”
The Dewey Schools Ocean Park hopes that the valuable knowledge from the seminar will help TDSers maintain a healthy lifestyle, improve their health and athletic spirit, and thus prepare well for their learning journey and the vast world ahead.
