What began as his parents’ simple wish to help him stay healthy gradually turned into a lifelong passion for swimming. For Nhat Minh, the turning point came when he won his very first Gold Medal at a local amateur competition. That achievement made him realize how deeply he loved the sport and inspired him to pursue it more seriously. Today, what drives him most is the determination to push beyond his own limits, one stroke at a time.
Behind every medal lies countless hours of dedication. Nhat Minh spends around three hours in the pool each day, training at high intensity and sticking to a rigorous weekly schedule, even when fatigue sets in. He also follows a carefully managed nutrition plan to maintain peak performance for competition—a challenge in itself for a growing student-athlete.

In the lead-up to every competition, discipline remains at the heart of Nhat Minh’s routine. He begins each session by refining his technique with his coach before moving on to intensive club training focused on building endurance and perfecting every stroke. Even after leaving the pool, his work continues with flexibility exercises and recovery sessions at home. Throughout his journey, British Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty has been a constant source of inspiration, motivating him to set ever-higher goals for himself.
“Although Nhat Minh doesn’t spend a great deal of time training directly with the team, he consistently demonstrates remarkable self-discipline and gives his all in every training session,” shared Mr. Ngoc Anh, an Aqua-Tots coach.

The unwavering support of his family, teachers, and teammates at Dewey has given Nhat Minh the confidence to pursue his passion wholeheartedly. For him, swimming is about far more than winning medals—it has taught him discipline, perseverance, and the courage to face challenges head-on. These are the qualities that will continue to guide him, both in and out of the pool, as he moves toward an even brighter future.
