Although the visit from the Council of International Schools (CIS) ended four months ago, both the CIS delegation and the teachers and staff at The Dewey Schools Cau Giay remain impressed by a confident 4th-grade student who introduced them to his learning environment. That student is Phung Quang Minh—one of the exemplary representatives of the proactive, knowledgeable Edufit generation, nurtured from the solid foundation of Sakura Montessori to the dynamic, all-through education environment at The Dewey Schools.
From his very first steps at Sakura Montessori Preschool, Quang Minh was introduced to the Montessori educational approach, where he was encouraged to learn through hands-on experiences and freely explore the world around him. The diverse learning activities, spanning language, arts, and sports, helped Minh develop independence, communication skills, and a spirit of collaboration.
Even after four years since graduation, Quang Minh’s first school continues to earn the trust of his family. “At Sakura Montessori, Minh not only learned in a friendly cultural environment but also felt the dedication of all the teachers and staff, from the security guards to the housekeeping team. That’s why, when our family welcomed our second child, we once again chose Sakura Montessori as the place to entrust and nurture them,” shared Linh Chi, Quang Minh’s mother.
Quang Minh continued his educational journey within the Edufit Education System at his second home, The Dewey Schools, where the solid foundation he had built was further developed. Real-life projects, group activities, and extracurricular programs at Dewey have helped Minh deepen his knowledge while honing his problem-solving skills, teamwork abilities, and, most notably, his confidence in expressing himself.
When asked about his secret to maintaining composure in front of the CIS team, Minh confidently said: “I just treated the CIS teachers like my own teachers at school, so there was nothing to be afraid of. I enjoyed sharing with them about my school, my favorite subjects, and even my dreams for the future.”
Sharing more about the environment at Dewey, Quang Minh’s mother proudly stated: “I believe this is the place where my child can learn, develop his thinking, and maximize his strengths. During his four years in elementary school, the subject teachers, as well as his homeroom teachers, Huyen Trang and Huong Chi, have only reinforced that trust. Our family feels so happy witnessing Quang Minh’s journey of growth day by day.”
Quang Minh not only stands out in Dewey’s academic environment but also demonstrates his determination to conquer new challenges through numerous awards in international math and English competitions. Edufit takes pride in Quang Minh’s journey and believes he will continue to stride confidently, overcoming new challenges and exploring incredible opportunities on his academic path ahead.
