Following the success of the first season, the Social Sciences & Humanities Department at The Dewey Schools is excited to launch the second season of the English-Vietnamese Poetry Translation Contest – “ENDLESS POETRY”. This competition offers a stimulating and enriching academic playground for students passionate about literature.
Participants:
Open to students from Grades 6 – 12 enrolled at any The Dewey Schools campus.
Competition period:
March 1, 2025 – March 31, 2025.
More than just a language competition, “Endless Poetry” is an inspiring journey into the art of words. It is a stage where young poets can unleash their creativity, express their linguistic prowess, and showcase their literary appreciation. By participating, TDSers will have the opportunity to:
- Enhance their analytical thinking and literary interpretation skills
- Skillfully integrate English and Vietnamese in creative expression
- Develop a deeper appreciation of literature and connect with the emotions of poets
Each translation is not merely a linguistic conversion but a unique piece of art, infused with personal expression and reimagining poetry through the creative lens of young talents.
Competition rules
- Translate an English poem into Vietnamese. Participants may choose from the curated selection of poems and are not limited in the number of translations they submit.

- Submissions can be handwritten or typed and may include illustrations.
- Translations must be original and not previously published in books, newspapers, magazines, or on any online platforms.
- Each entry must clearly state: Student’s Name – Grade – School – Total Page Count.
Submission:
Students should submit their entries to their Vietnamese Literature teacher.
PRIZES
- 2 First Prizes: 2,000,000 VND each
- 6 Second Prizes: 500,000 VND each
- 8 Third Prizes: 250,000 VND each
- 10 Consolation Prizes: 100,000 VND each
- 1 Class Prize (for the class with the most outstanding entries): 1,000,000 VND
