As students grow, their bodies are constantly changing in ways that deserve timely attention. Their eyesight may need to be checked, just as a pair of glasses may need adjusting, or their sitting posture may need correcting. When these small signs are noticed early, families and the school can take a more proactive approach to supporting students’ health.
As part of its commitment to students’ holistic development, The Dewey Schools organises regular health check-ups with professional support from the medical team at Mirai General Clinic.*

During the check-up, TDSers are assessed across a range of areas, including vision, dental and oral health, ear, nose and throat health, paediatrics, and more. The results provide useful information for families and the school to monitor each student’s physical development and identify any areas that may need continued attention throughout the school year.
More importantly, the experience also helps students gradually understand that good health begins with being aware of changes in their own bodies and making thoughtful choices every day: eating well, staying active, getting enough rest, and speaking up when something does not feel right.

This is also one way Well-being is brought to life at Dewey: beginning with attentive care, sustained through consistent monitoring, and ultimately helping each student learn to take care of themselves. By learning to listen to their bodies, students not only build healthier habits, but also develop a stronger foundation for learning, exploring, and growing with confidence.
