As the countdown to the 2026 National High School Graduation Examination begins, Grade 12 students from Dewey Hai Phong embarked on a meaningful journey to offer incense at the Temple of Nguyen Binh Khiem — the revered Trang Trinh and a great pride of Hai Phong.

Sending prayers and aspirations before the “Dragon Gate” Amid the peaceful atmosphere and lingering scent of incense, Dewey teachers and students respectfully performed the incense offering ceremony together. This was not only an opportunity for students to express gratitude for the wisdom and virtue of a great scholar of the past, but also a moment to reflect, find inner calm, and send their wishes for a smooth and successful upcoming examination season.

Tracing history & prophecies that transcended centuries During the visit, Dewey Hai Phong students also learned more about the remarkable life of Nguyen Binh Khiem — known as “The Teacher of Generations.” In particular, students explored his famous prophetic verses, many of which later proved meaningful through history:
“The East Sea stretches wide with open arms / Vietnam shall stand in lasting peace for generations.” This verse is often regarded as both a prophecy and a reminder about the importance of protecting Vietnam’s maritime sovereignty.
e“A saint shall rise from Nam Dan, bringing peace to the people.” A prophetic verse widely associated with the emergence and legacy of President Ho Chi Minh.

Immersing in a vibrant cultural space The journey continued with many memorable cultural experiences, including visiting the tombs and temples dedicated to Nguyen Binh Khiem’s parents, exploring the museum, and discovering the restored traditional residence of Trang Trinh. Students also had the chance to witness reenactments of villagers joyfully welcoming the scholar back to his hometown, offering a vivid glimpse into the pride of a land long known for its spirit of learning.

The journey came to an end, leaving students with a sense of peace in their minds and determination in their hearts. With inspiration drawn from the legacy of great predecessors and their own relentless efforts, Dewey’s Grade 12 “warriors” are ready to confidently conquer the 2026 National High School Graduation Examination ahead!
