On the occasion of International Workers’ Day (May 1), The Dewey Schools Parent Association (DPA) hosted an appreciation gathering to honor the operations staff—the “silent backbone” supporting every Dewey student’s journey of growth.
Though they are not in the classroom, Dewey’s operations team serves as the steady force behind the entire school system. From security, information technology, and facilities to event management and school nutrition, each department plays a distinct role while sharing a common mission: to create a safe, nurturing, and inspiring learning environment for students. These behind-the-scenes tasks, often perceived as routine, form the solid foundation that makes each school day a joyful experience for every child.
At the event, Mr. Đặng Minh Quang, representing the Parent Association, expressed his appreciation: “Thank you to our dedicated and meticulous operations team working behind the scenes, ensuring that every student event is seamlessly organized and thoughtfully delivered. From caring for students’ meals and well-being to maintaining a safe and enriching learning environment, your efforts help our children feel secure, supported, and happy at school.”
This also reflects the consistent direction that The Dewey Schools steadfastly pursues: a holistic approach to student well-being, encompassing both physical and emotional health. Beyond providing optimal learning conditions, the school prioritizes nurturing positive emotions, fostering a psychologically safe environment, and maintaining strong connections with parents. This close partnership between school and family becomes a vital link, ensuring that each student is heard, understood, and able to grow at their own pace.
Representing the school, Ms. Vũ Thị Lệ Hằng, Head of School Safety & Quality Assurance, also acknowledged the Parent Association’s support throughout the academic year: “The trust and partnership from parents are a powerful source of motivation for our teachers and staff to continue striving every day. We hope this relationship will keep growing stronger, becoming a sustainable bridge in nurturing our students’ development.”
More than a gesture of appreciation, the event also carries educational significance and is envisioned by the Dewey Parent Association as an annual tradition.
