In the mountainous areas of Lao Cai, there are still young children who must cross hills and streams every day to get to school. When the rainy season arrives, those routes become even more rugged and challenging. Their journey to pursue education grows harder, with difficulties piling upon difficulties.
Continuing the “Supporting Every Step to School” initiative from the previous academic year, the Dewey Tay Ho Tay Community Fund is launching a new bridge construction project in Van Chan Commune, Lao Cai Province. The project aims to build a safer and more sustainable bridge, helping residents and children travel more conveniently during the rainy season, reducing the risk of accidents, and empowering them to move forward confidently in their educational and livelihood journeys.
At Dewey, education goes beyond textbooks — it is reflected in meaningful acts of compassion and sharing. This project is also an opportunity for Dewey Tay Ho Tay students to participate in community service activities, gain real-life experiences, and connect with students in mountainous areas. Through these experiences, they nurture empathy, responsibility, and kindness.
