“And now I lift myself up, reaching for the place I once dreamed of. My wings will never fear the raging storm and pouring rain. There is no victory greater than overcoming oneself.” These lyrics, echoing through the theater stage, perfectly captured the spirit and meaning of the D-Show 25 Tay Ho Tay Final Round.
With the theme “The Future Me,” every performance on stage told an emotional story of dreams. It was the longing to grow and continue a mother’s dream, the ambition to become a musician or a professional dancer… More than just celebrating individual aspirations, TDSers also depicted shared dreams for the community – whether it was building a greener planet or spreading the richness of Vietnamese culture and history to the world.
Journalist Bong Mai, one of the judges, expressed admiration for the students’ talent: “Through the language of music, art, and heartfelt expression, the students have painted a portrait of a future generation that lives passionately, dares to dream, and dares to shine.” With over 30 performances spanning from Elementary to High School, the event unfolded as a vibrant artistic tapestry – a powerful statement of the creativity, courage, and profound spirit of TDSers.
More than just a stage for talent, the D-Show 25 Tay Ho Tay Final Round was a place where hearts connected. It was seen in the reassuring hugs of parents backstage, the encouraging words of “You can do it!” shared among teammates after a mistake, and the resounding cheers that filled the auditorium.
One of the most poignant moments was the appearance of Mr. Thach Quang San, the father of an 11Orlando student, in the musical “War and Peace.” He shared: “Standing on stage with the students today, I am truly moved. I was once a veteran of the Air Defense – Air Force during the war against the U.S. Back then, my generation had dreams too – dreams of fighting for peace and for our country. These students have vividly recreated the spirit of our time, bringing to life the proud milestones of history. They have shown me the portrait of a future generation that respects the past, possesses great courage, and has the talent to build a better nation.”
Faced with an array of outstanding performances, the D-Show 25 judging panel worked tirelessly to select the most impressive acts. Congratulations to all the performances that excelled at the Tay Ho Tay Final Round!
The top talents from this round will now be carefully selected by the Artistic Advisory Board to represent the campus at the Grand Finale, set to take place on April 12, 2025, at the National Convention Center. Once again, congratulations to all TDSers on their incredible achievements! A heartfelt thank you to all contestants and parents for contributing to an unforgettable D-Show 25 season.
