Following a series of rigorous assessments conducted by SGS, a world-leading testing, inspection, and certification organization, the kitchen facility at The Dewey Schools Tay Ho Tay, operated by S-Deli Joint Stock Company, has officially been awarded the ISO 22000:2018 certification for its Food Safety Management System. This significant milestone reaffirms the School’s commitment to providing safe, high-quality meals for students while operating in accordance with internationally recognized standards.

The assessment results confirmed that the entire food service operation and supply chain at Dewey Tay Ho Tay fully comply with the stringent requirements of ISO 22000:2018. One of the system’s key strengths is its end-to-end traceability throughout the food supply chain. All ingredients used in student meals are monitored from supplier selection and receiving to storage and food preparation, enabling the School to enhance transparency, proactively oversee quality, and ensure safety in every meal served.
Notably, ISO 22000:2018 emphasizes a preventive approach to food safety management. Potential food safety hazards are identified, assessed, and controlled at every stage of the operation, allowing the kitchen team to proactively mitigate risks before they can impact the quality and safety of students’ meals.

The Dewey Schools’ Food Safety Management System underwent a six-month independent assessment conducted by SGS Vietnam*. Following certification, the system will continue to undergo periodic surveillance audits to ensure that standards are consistently maintained and continuously improved throughout daily operations.
Commenting on Dewey’s food service system, Mr. Nguyen Si Hung, Northern Regional Manager, Business Assurance Division, SGS Vietnam, stated: “We recognize the School’s systematic investment in infrastructure as well as its effective implementation of food safety management processes. The documentation and monitoring systems have been comprehensively developed and are operating efficiently. In particular, the staff have received thorough training in accordance with the requirements of ISO 22000:2018, demonstrating a strong understanding of and commitment to international food safety standards.”

The ISO 22000:2018 certification is more than recognition of the School’s efforts to create a safe learning environment. More importantly, it reflects The Dewey Schools’ long-term commitment to safeguarding students’ health through the most essential aspects of everyday school life.
