Last weekend, the Dewey Hai Phong campus transformed into a vibrant “space station,” where parents and students embarked together on a fascinating journey into the “age of science.” Here, questions of “Why?” were no longer confined to notebook pages but were explored and answered through hands-on experiences.

Designed as a purposeful journey of discovery, the Science Fair guided the curiosity of young “scientists” through different zones. The journey began at the learning exhibition area, where students showcased ideas and projects they had independently researched and brought to life. This was followed by 16 interactive experience stations, where students controlled sand-excavating robots, challenged their thinking in the “Math Lab,” and explored geometric structures through magnetic joint models. Each station served as a “key to knowledge,” where physics, chemistry, mathematics, and even art were vividly connected before their eyes.

Beyond understanding the scientific principles behind experiments, students were encouraged to reflect further by asking, “Is there a better way?” This reflects the learning journey at The Dewey Schools, where students continuously engage in the “experiential learning cycle”: starting with curiosity, moving to hands-on experimentation, followed by reflection, and ultimately transforming knowledge.
“I found the challenge at Level Up Lab very creative, especially when students designed a protractor inspired by a camera. By observing carefully, I could estimate angles without touching anything. At the same time, it made me wonder if there is a way to measure angles without using a protractor at all,” shared Do Gia Linh (11 Atlanta).

Although the Science Fair has come to an end, the “seeds” of passion, curiosity, and the desire to conquer knowledge will continue to be nurtured and grow within every Dewey student. Thank you to our young “scientists” and parents for creating such a memorable scientific journey together!
