Last weekend, the Dewey football field was “hotter” than ever as the “Dewey Open” Four-Team Football Tournament 2025–2026 was held for the very first time, featuring young primary school players from four schools: The Dewey Schools Tay Ho Tay, The Dewey Schools Ocean Park, Newton Primary School, and Edison Primary School.

From the very first match, despite the sunny and hot weather, the players’ enthusiasm and determination never wavered. On the field were fast-paced plays, skillful ball control, and flexible movements. With each match, the players understood each other better, and their coordination became increasingly smooth and effective. Off the field, continuous cheers from supporters created an energetic and lively atmosphere throughout the tournament.

Mr. Dao Vu Thuat (PE Teacher at The Dewey Schools) proudly shared:
“Matches like these help students gain more competition experience and learn how to maintain a strong competitive mindset. At the same time, teams need to keep improving basic techniques such as passing and shooting, along with discipline in positioning, to continue developing further.”
Winning or losing was not the most important thing—the tournament provided an opportunity for TDSers to get used to real competitive pressure. With each time on the field, they showed greater confidence in handling the ball while gradually learning how to coordinate and connect with their teammates. It was truly a day that went “beyond a friendly match,” helping them develop comprehensively in skills, spirit, and competitive mindset for the future.

The “Dewey Open” Four-Team Football Tournament for the 2025–2026 academic year was organized to promote sports activities, support U10 students’ physical development, and foster discipline and teamwork. It also serves as an opportunity for the school to identify and nurture promising talents for the primary-level football team.
