At The Dewey Schools, learning does not stop at finding the correct answer—it begins with a question: when faced with a new problem, are students willing to experiment and खोज their own solutions? At the Science Report—an activity within Science Fair 2026 “Science of Solving”—Grade 7 and Grade 10 students stepped into the role of “solution makers,” presenting creative scientific projects closely connected to real life.

Here, these “future innovators” introduced a range of highly practical models, including water filtration systems for flood-affected areas in response to flooding in Central Vietnam, floating trash collection devices, automatic board cleaners, and research on how soil quality impacts plant growth. These projects were not built on distant ideas, but on familiar, real-world problems. What stands out is not how “new” the products are, but how students approach problems: observing, forming hypotheses, experimenting, and refining their solutions.

“I think Science Fair is a great opportunity for us to get closer to science. With the support and guidance from our teachers, we were able to complete our projects in the best way possible,” shared Kien Hung from Grade 10 Havana.
Behind every completed project lies a journey of “walking the path of a scientist”: students independently research, process information, test hypotheses, and embrace mistakes as part of refining their approach. Through this process, practical thinking skills are developed as students gain a deeper understanding of knowledge and learn to apply it effectively. At the same time, self-directed learning becomes more evident: students learn how to ask questions, find their own direction, and take responsibility for their outcomes.

Beyond creating products, each student also presents, explains, and defends their scientific ideas in front of teachers and peers. This is where they build confidence, develop clear communication, and strengthen critical thinking—competencies that truly take shape when learners are placed in authentic situations.
The Science Report is just a glimpse of Science Fair 2026 “Science of Solving,” which will take place on April 4! Parents are warmly invited to visit and experience firsthand how students learn, research, and grow through real products and meaningful experiences.
