The lively rhythm of lion dance drums echoed across the schoolyard. From the hallways to the classrooms, every corner of Dewey was filled with familiar symbols of the Mid-Autumn Festival — star-shaped lanterns, fruit trays, and colorful paper lanterns. Beyond enjoying the sweetness of mooncakes and the joy of the festive feast under the full moon, Dewey students immersed themselves in traditional folk games such as flag snatching, tug of war, and paper smashing.
With the theme “The Old Moon,” this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival at Dewey felt like a time machine — taking students on a nostalgic journey back to the traditional celebrations of the past, rekindling cherished childhood memories of the 80s and 90s generations.

Each game, each activity, was a vibrant piece of a larger picture — a dazzling Mid-Autumn Festival filled with the colors of childhood. These experiences not only nurtured agility and teamwork but also deepened students’ appreciation for Vietnam’s rich folk culture. The cheerful atmosphere spread throughout Dewey, where every bright smile and eager gaze reflected the students’ love for this timeless tradition.

At Dewey, preserving and honoring cultural heritage is woven into every experience. Through this meaningful celebration, the school proudly connects students with their roots while sharing the beauty of Vietnamese culture with the world. For Dewey students, the Mid-Autumn Festival is more than just a day of festivities — it is a beautiful memory and a humanistic journey of connection, growth, and cultural pride.
