Freedom, how beautiful peace is!

The vibrant red flag shines across the land.

Millions of hearts rise in chorus:

“Vietnam, we sing our pride forever!”

Joining the jubilant atmosphere of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, The Dewey Schools organized a diverse and creative series of activities to spread the spirit of patriotism throughout the campus: from “dyeing” Dewey in the vibrant red of the national flag, to powerful slogans like “Independence – Freedom – Happiness,” and vivid posters celebrating April 30th. The bright eyes and proud chants of “Vietnam!” from our students added joyful melodies to the sacred symphony of national unity.

On this significant occasion, The Dewey Schools would like to express our deepest gratitude to the heroic martyrs, wounded soldiers, and veterans—those who sacrificed their youth, their blood, and their lives for the dream of a united Vietnam. We also extend our appreciation to the new generation of soldiers who are carrying forward the proud traditions of their predecessors, steadfastly protecting the flag of freedom under a peaceful sky.

With this profound gratitude, Dewey students are striving every day to equip themselves with knowledge, cultivate resilience, and learn to love, to share, and to grow into compassionate individuals dedicated to their communities. They are proud to continue writing Vietnam’s story of peace—spreading their love for their homeland and traditional culture across the world, for a Vietnam that moves ever forward. Wherever they may go, one simple but sacred truth remains etched in their hearts: “With red blood and yellow skin, I am Vietnamese.”
