“Vietnam has a flag
To remind us we are free
Wherever one may go
Looking up, pride will always be.”
“I love observing the presence of peace in everyday life – in the red of the national flag, in the sound of vehicles passing each afternoon. Taking a walk around the city, my heart fills with gratitude and joy for being able to capture a few beautiful moments.”— Shared by Phạm Đình Huy (Grade 11 Dallas) in the street photography project celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and Vietnam’s National Day (September 2).

Every TDSer has their own way of expressing love for their country and national pride. Some compose poetry, others paint, while some choose to preserve every moment of “peace” through photography. Through their lenses, peace gleams in vibrant colors: the brilliant red of the national flag adorning every street corner, the golden hue of autumn in the season of independence…

These photographs serve as a reminder that today’s peace was earned through the sacrifices of our forefathers—those who “sowed their youth” to gain freedom for the nation. It is also the driving force that inspires TDSers to strive in their studies and training, carrying the courage and spirit of Vietnam out into the world.
