On the morning of September 5, 2025, in harmony with the nationwide back-to-school atmosphere, The Dewey Schools Hai Phong solemnly held the Opening Ceremony of the 2025–2026 academic year. This year’s ceremony carried a special meaning as it was organized uniformly across the country to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of National Education (the predecessor of the Ministry of Education and Training).

At The Dewey Schools Hai Phong, teachers and students were honored to receive congratulatory flowers from leaders of Hung Dao Ward. The presence of the delegates served as a great source of encouragement, further strengthening the school’s confidence and determination for the new academic journey of 2025–2026.

In a solemn atmosphere, all delegates, teachers, and students of Dewey Hai Phong together followed the nationwide Opening Ceremony broadcast live on national television. Through the online connection system, The Dewey Schools Hai Phong performed the sacred flag-raising ceremony, singing the National Anthem along with about 1.7 million teachers and nearly 30 million students across the country, while also listening to meaningful messages from the Party, Government, and leading educational authorities.

At the ceremony, the school also launched a campaign to support the Cuban people on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, calling on all students, teachers, and parents to join hands to share with Vietnam’s traditional friend, who is facing many difficulties due to natural disasters, epidemics, and long-term embargo policies.

The most meaningful moment at the ceremony was when all teachers and students watched General Secretary To Lam beat the drum to open the new school year at the National Convention Center. The drumbeat spread to all parts of the country like a call, marking a meaningful start for the entire education sector in the new era.

In the 2025–2026 school year, Dewey Hai Phong remains steadfast in its pedagogical focus on Differentiated Instruction—placing students at the center of learning so that each can maximize their strengths. They do not only learn to grasp knowledge but also to create, to think critically, and to confidently express their own voices. From this foundation, they grow into global citizens who carry within them the aspiration to contribute to the nation—fulfilling the eternal mission entrusted by President Ho Chi Minh: “Whether Vietnam’s rivers and mountains become beautiful and whether the Vietnamese people can step onto the glorious stage to stand shoulder to shoulder with global powers depends in large part on the learning efforts of the children.”
