The first voyage – guiding the first generation of Students on their learning and growth journey at The Dewey Schools has reached its destination!
For the Dewey Teachers, no words can truly capture the emotions upon receiving the 2023-2024 National High School Graduation Exam results for the first generation of 12th-grade Students at The Dewey Schools. Determination, resilience, and talent have led to remarkable and proud achievements.
When the names of the valedictorian, salutatorian, and those scoring 9 and 10 were announced, it was hardly surprising to the Teachers. Throughout their time at The Dewey Schools, these Students have relentlessly strived to become better versions of themselves. Let’s meet the faces that have inspired many “underclassmen” at The Dewey Schools.
Nguyen Huyen Anh (12Madrid) – Valedictorian of The Dewey Schools Tay Ho Tay with a total graduation exam score of 53.95 and a graduation evaluation score of 9.5.
A girl with a passion for social sciences, Huyen Anh excelled with 9.5 points in both Geography and Civic Education. For three consecutive years, she received the Dewey Scholarship and was the former Chair of the Dewey Student Council (DSC), participating in nearly all major and minor school events. Huyen Anh is a shining example of a well-rounded Student at TDS, as evidenced by her 100% scholarship to VinUni University. “I consider the entire preparation process as a learning journey to gain more knowledge, and the exam as a way to prove that journey. I study with an interest in the subjects, without stressing too much about the scores – just doing my best is enough. For me, the journey is more important than the result,” Huyen Anh shared about her journey to conquer the National High School Graduation Exam.
Tong Huu Minh (12Madrid) – Salutatorian of The Dewey Schools Tay Ho Tay with a total graduation exam score of 53.25 and a graduation evaluation score of 9.5.
Minh surprised everyone by achieving a perfect score of 10 in the Civic Education exam and being the only male Student to attain a 9.5 in Literature, the highest in the 12th grade. Minh himself was astonished by the results: “The Literature score exceeded my expectations. Before the exam, I kept a relaxed mindset. In the final days, the Teachers provided us with a lot of review sessions, which I believe led to a breakthrough in my and my classmates’ scores in 12Madrid.”
“Huyen Anh and Huu Minh are Students who embody the four core values of our school, particularly their passion and lifelong learning abilities. They possess the capability for self-directed learning and continually strive to achieve their goals. The scores they have achieved today are well-deserved and accurately reflect their efforts over the past years,” shared Ms. Be Thi Thanh Thanh, the Homeroom Teacher of class 12Madrid.
Cao Nguyen Chau Anh (12Dublin) – Valedictorian of The Dewey Schools Duong Kinh (Hai Phong) with a total graduation exam score of 54.65 and a graduation evaluation score of 9.5.

Chau Anh’s journey shines even brighter with her exceptional achievement of securing scholarships from five prestigious universities worldwide. Chau Anh emotionally shared, “To be honest, there were times when I felt helpless, stuck in one place or even regressing. Those challenging times, however, made me grateful because the poor results motivated me to study harder and learn more.”
Chau Anh always has many creative ideas that benefit the community. The Teachers believe that Chau Anh possesses all the skills and qualities of a global citizen.
