After a short launch period, the “Green Ideas” competition received over 100 submissions from students across different grade levels at The Dewey Schools.
Aiming to help students gain a deeper understanding of environmental challenges that directly impact daily life, the “Green Ideas” competition encourages them to proactively propose practical, accessible, and feasible green solutions that can be applied within the school context. At the same time, the competition promotes collaboration among the School, Families, and Students—creating a space where positive initiatives are heard, supported, and gradually expanded.
Through various forms of visual communication such as drawings, posters, models, and infographics, students presented diverse perspectives on environmental issues—from consumption habits, household waste, and living-space pollution to the relationship between humans and nature. The submitted works demonstrate keen observation skills, clear awareness of the impact of individual actions, and a strong sense of responsibility toward sustainable change.

The “Green Ideas” competition is part of the multi-layered Well-being ecosystem at The Dewey Schools. Alongside the core academic program and professionally standardized systems of support, prevention, and intervention, experiential activities like this help build a safe and healthy school environment. Here, students are encouraged to be heard, express their perspectives, develop confidence, foster a sense of belonging, and actively engage in social initiatives. From this foundation, the school nurtures students to grow not only physically healthy and mentally resilient but also socially responsible and ready to take positive action for the community.
