In just the first six months of 2025, authorities have recorded dozens of cases of online scams, psychological manipulation, and even cyber-related abductions involving children. In response, The Dewey Schools are hosting a workshop titled “Accompanying Your Child Safely in the Digital World,” in support of the “Not Alone” campaign, initiated by the Digital Trust Alliance, in collaboration with the Department of Cybersecurity and High-Tech Crime Prevention (A05) and the National Cybersecurity Association. The workshop aims to provide students and parents with practical knowledge and essential skills to stay alert and protect themselves from sophisticated forms of online deception.

The discussion will focus on four key areas:
- Analyzing common forms of online attacks, scams, and psychological manipulation targeting children.
- Equipping parents with strategic skills to accompany and build a “digital shield” for their children.
- Introducing Dewey’s “Digital Citizen” program, where students are empowered with the knowledge and skills to learn safely and creatively in the online world.
- Strengthening the collaboration between families and schools to ensure holistic student development and safety.
Raising awareness and developing digital literacy from an early age is the most effective way for parents to help children identify, prevent, and respond to cyber threats.
