Recently, Khôi Nguyên (Class 11Denton) and Đức Cường (Class 10Victoria) achieved outstanding success by winning the Gold Medal at the International Intellectual Property, Invention, Innovation and Technology Exposition (IPITEx) 2026*, and were further honored with a Special Award presented by Euro Business (Poland) for their impressive project. Surpassing hundreds of competing teams from many countries, the students’ project affirmed the strong capability of Vietnamese students to apply artificial intelligence (AI) on the international stage, while powerfully conveying a message about the younger generation’s responsibility in addressing pressing societal challenges.

Originating from a deep concern for community health issues, the team researched and developed a technology-based healthcare support system. Khôi Nguyên shared, “This solution aims to assist users in daily activities, monitor health conditions, and help maintain both physical and mental functions. By applying modern technologies, the system serves as a supportive tool that enhances quality of life and alleviates the burden on both patients and caregivers.”
A key highlight of the project lies in its integration of multiple functions within a user-friendly, intuitive interface, while maintaining low operating costs through the use of open-source technologies such as Python, TensorFlow, Keras, and MediaPipe. The project’s creativity, scientific value, strong practical applicability, and community-oriented goals earned high praise from the IPITEx 2026 judging panel.
Competing in a large-scale international arena, Khôi Nguyên and Đức Cường demonstrated remarkable confidence in communication, presentation, and academic debate in specialized English with judges, experts, and international peers. Đức Cường noted that this confidence was cultivated through project-based learning, experiential activities, and the open academic environment at The Dewey Schools. Before this, neither student had participated in an international invention competition. IPITEx 2026 thus became a valuable opportunity for them to learn, gain exposure, and engage with professional research and scientific publication processes.
The success of Dewey students at IPITEx 2026 reaffirms their strong international integration capabilities in the fields of Science and Technology. It also represents the “sweet fruit” of a journey of learning and experiential education at The Dewey Schools, contributing to the cultivation of high-quality human resources for the future of the nation.
