Over the past week, posters and slogans reading “Together, Stay safe online” have filled every corner of Dewey, echoing the spirit of the nationwide campaign “Not Alone” and spreading the message of the Hanoi Convention on Child Online Protection through a series of meaningful and practical activities.

The competition “Online Safe – Online Smart” has also been heating up across the school. Every classroom has turned into a creative studio, with students passionately designing posters, creating paintings, and rehearsing skits to raise awareness about digital safety. During daily morning meetings, TDSers have turned discussions about the Hanoi Convention into vibrant forums, exchanging ideas and learning how to stay safe in the online world. Topics such as “What are common forms of online scams?” and “Who should you talk to when facing a risky situation online?” have been discussed openly and enthusiastically by teachers and students alike.

The “Not Alone” campaign has also strengthened the partnership between school and families in building a healthy digital environment. A highlight of this effort was the seminar “Accompanying Your Child in the Digital World,” featuring Lieutenant Colonel Nguyễn Tiến Cường, Head of Division 3, Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention (A05). Drawing from his professional insights and the school’s practical experience, the seminar equipped parents with strategies to build a “digital shield” for their children—helping them recognize sophisticated online threats and collaborate effectively with Dewey in protecting young users on the internet.

From experiential learning activities and creative competitions to meaningful seminars, Dewey has been turning the Digital Citizenship Declaration into real, impactful action. Minh Ngọc (12 Austin) shared, “Participating in the ‘Not Alone’ campaign not only helps us learn how to protect ourselves online but also gives us a chance to turn knowledge into action — spreading useful information to our community. We believe that preventing online scams and ensuring digital safety are not only the responsibilities of governments or leaders but also of every internet user.”
