In remote and mountainous regions where economic conditions remain challenging, access to computers or the Internet is still a “luxury” for many students. The lack of computers not only limits their ability to acquire knowledge but also reduces their opportunities to develop and grow compared to peers in major cities.

Understanding this reality, The Dewey Schools, in collaboration with the Nourishing Children ecosystem and the Vietnam National Volunteer Center (VVC), has launched the “Computer Room for Children” project. This initiative provides computer labs to under-resourced schools where ethnic minority students are eager to learn, helping them keep pace with a rapidly changing world.

With generous contributions from sponsors and school parents through the D-Show 25 program, The Dewey Schools and the Nourishing Children ecosystem have selected six schools to receive new computer rooms:

  • Deo Gia Primary School, Bac Giang
  • Cam Son Primary School, Bac Giang
  • Huu San Primary & Secondary School, Bac Giang
  • Le Lai Primary School, Gia Lai
  • Bui Thi Xuan Primary School, Gia Lai
  • Nguyen Du Primary & Secondary School, Gia Lai

These schools currently face severe shortages in infrastructure, with outdated or insufficient computers that cannot meet teaching and learning needs. For example, Huu San Primary & Secondary School (Bac Giang) has only 3 computers for 127 students, while students at Le Lai Primary School (Gia Lai) must travel 8 km to access a computer lab.

Project Timeline – “Computer Room for Children”:

May 9, 2025: 60 modern computers will be delivered to the six schools in Gia Lai and Bac Giang.

May 16, 2025: An official handover ceremony will take place at Deo Gia Primary School (Bac Giang), with participation from representatives of all four The Dewey Schools campuses.

Once the computers are delivered, TDSers (The Dewey Schools students) will support their peers through online IT classes during the first academic year. These classes will introduce students to fundamental computer skills – an essential first step toward exploring the digital world and reaching new horizons of knowledge.

60 computers donated means over 1,800 students will gain direct access to technology, discover new learning methods, expand their understanding of the world, and move closer to shaping their own futures.

Every contribution, big or small, is a seed of hope planted in the educational journey of children in remote areas. D-Show 25 is not just a celebration of art and creativity; it is a symbol of humanity, where each person joins hands to bring about meaningful and lasting change for the community.
