“I love it most when our group works together to solve a challenge.”
“I never thought coding could feel like solving such an interesting puzzle.”
“I used to think history was boring—until I explored it in a different way.”
These enthusiastic remarks were captured by the “Dewey reporters” during their journey exploring after-school academic clubs at Dewey Cau Giay.

Following the students, we realized that club life at Dewey is more than just after-class activities. It is where knowledge continues to expand in very different ways: from programming robots in the IT lab, practicing precision through handwriting classes, to lively debates in the Speak Up Club and creative design ideas in the MDE space.
At Dewey, the extracurricular club system is built as an extension of the academic curriculum, where students deepen their knowledge while gradually discovering their own abilities. What makes it unique is that the clubs are not organized in isolation but are thoughtfully designed to align with students’ developmental stages at each grade level.

At the Primary level, clubs open up a wide range of exploratory spaces—from technology and languages to arts and creativity. This is when students are encouraged to try diverse experiences, explore multiple fields, and identify their interests and strengths.
Moving into Middle School, clubs begin to focus more deeply on skills and academic competencies. Students not only participate in activities but also take on projects and academic competitions, developing critical thinking, research abilities, and teamwork skills.
At the High School level, club activities become increasingly aligned with each student’s career orientation. Academic experiences, specialized projects, and leadership roles within clubs serve as an important foundation for building portfolios and preparing for university journeys.

An after-school day for Dewey students may begin with solving a coding problem, practicing a presentation, or exploring a new design idea—but what matters more lies beneath it all: a purposefully designed learning ecosystem where each TDSer gradually discovers their passions, develops their abilities, and shapes their own path forward.
