The outstanding results achieved in this year’s public high school entrance exam are a testament to the strong academic foundation of Dewey Hai Phong students. Despite studying in an American-standard bilingual international environment, more than 80% of our Grade 9 students who sat for the public high school entrance exam scored over 20 out of 30 across the three core subjects—Literature, Mathematics, and English—with many earning perfect 10s.
In recent years, high school entrance examinations have increasingly focused on assessing critical thinking, knowledge application, and problem-solving skills rather than simple memorization. To excel in these exams, students need a deep understanding of concepts, the ability to connect knowledge across disciplines, and the confidence to apply what they have learned in new contexts. These are exactly the competencies that Dewey nurtures every day through project-based learning, authentic experiences, and the cultivation of independent learning habits. By understanding concepts instead of memorizing them, our students are well-prepared to tackle even the most challenging questions and unfamiliar problem types with confidence.

Luu Xuan The Hung (Class 9 Lisbon), who achieved perfect scores of 10 in both Mathematics and English, shared that he did not attend any private tutoring outside school. Instead, he developed the habit of reviewing and organizing his knowledge independently, identifying areas for improvement, and deepening his understanding. This disciplined approach enabled him to enter the exam feeling confident and fully prepared.
Through its integrated curriculum, Dewey equips students not only with strong English proficiency and a global mindset but also with a solid academic foundation aligned with the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training curriculum. Perfect 10s in Mathematics and impressive scores such as 9 in Literature clearly demonstrate that Dewey students are both confident English users and academically capable learners, ready to excel in Vietnam’s most competitive examinations.
As Dewey’s Grade 12 students have consistently demonstrated in recent years, the doors to Vietnam’s leading universities—including the Foreign Trade University, the National Economics University, and the Banking Academy of Vietnam—remain wide open. Equipped with strong academic knowledge and essential skills, our students are never limited to choosing between a domestic or international pathway. Instead, they have the confidence and capability to pursue whichever path best aligns with their aspirations and passions.
Congratulations to all our students on these remarkable achievements! Today’s success marks another important milestone on your educational journey and serves as a stepping stone toward even greater accomplishments—from high school to university and beyond. We wish you every success as you embrace the next stage of your learning journey with confidence, independence, and an unwavering commitment to continuous growth.
