5 years of continuous reflection and improvement
Thousands of pieces of evidence collected
Multiple rounds of rigorous evaluation
Extensive surveys and stakeholder interviews
After years of perseverance, on May 15, 2026, Dewey Hai Phong officially achieved CIS Accreditation from the Council of International Schools (CIS) — one of the world’s leading and most prestigiousinternational education accreditation organizations. Behind this milestone were hundreds of hours of dedicated work stretching late into the evenings: reviewing every operational standard, examining every aspect of the student learning experience, andlistening closely to feedback from parents, teachers, and the wider community.
So, what did Dewey Hai Phong’s CIS accreditation journey look like?

JULY 2022 – DEWEY HAI PHONG REGISTERED FOR THE CIS PRE-ACCREDITATION PROCESS
The journey officially began in 2022 when Dewey Hai Phong joined the CIS network and initiated a comprehensive review of its educational system against CIS international standards.
To enter the accreditation process, a school must demonstrate far more than academic quality. It must also provide evidence of transparent governance, operational excellence, school safety, a commitmentto global citizenship education, and a culture of continuous long-term improvement.
SEPTEMBER 16–19, 2024 – PRE-ACCREDITATION EVALUATION VISIT
After more than two years of internal review and self-evaluation, Dewey Hai Phong entered the pre-accreditation evaluation phase, working directly with CIS evaluators.
Based on the evaluators’ in-depth recommendations, the School implemented a wide range of improvements throughout the 2024–2025 academic year, including: integrating Foundational Statements such asGlobal Citizenship & Intercultural Learning and Digital Citizenship into classroom practice; restructuring the SEL (Social Emotional Learning) program into a standalone subject; upgrading science laboratoriesto meet international safety standards; strengthening differentiated instruction; developing professional learning communities; and enhancing faculty training across the School.
MARCH 28 – APRIL 3, 2026 – TEAM EVALUATION VISIT
During a full week of on-site evaluation at Dewey Hai Phong, the CIS accreditation team conducted classroom observations, reviewed evidence and documentation, surveyed members of the schoolcommunity, and interviewed school leaders, teachers, parents, students, and staff.
The evaluation covered all aspects of school operations, including educational vision, governance, curriculum, teaching and learning, student well-being and development, facilities, technology, humanresources, safeguarding practices, and community engagement.
MAY 15, 2026 – DEWEY HAI PHONG OFFICIALLY ACHIEVED CIS ACCREDITATION
After nearly five years of continuous improvement, Dewey Hai Phong officially achieved CIS Accreditation, affirming the School’s international educational quality, operational transparency, and commitmentto equipping students with global citizenship competencies and future-ready skills.
This achievement belongs to the entire Dewey Hai Phong community — teachers, staff, students, and parents — united by one shared goal: building a school that continuously moves forward.
2031 (EXPECTED) – CONTINUING THE CIS REACCREDITATION CYCLE
Achieving CIS Accreditation is not the end of the journey. Under CIS requirements, accredited schools must maintain annual reporting, continuously update evidence, implement ongoing improvementactions, and participate in periodic review activities before entering the next reaccreditation cycle.
CIS Accreditation serves as an independent mark of assurance from the international education community, giving students confidence that their learning environment has been evaluated, validated, andbenchmarked against globally recognized standards.
Students are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to study, work, and collaborate in an increasingly interconnected world — with open-mindedness, adaptability, and a strong sense of socialresponsibility. CIS-accredited schools are also more widely recognized within the global network of over 600 CIS member universities. Many international universities additionally offer scholarships, financialaid opportunities, or dedicated admissions pathways for students graduating from CIS-accredited schools.
CIS is not simply a “title” or recognition. It is Dewey Hai Phong’s long-term commitment to building a high-quality, transparent, safe, and continuously evolving international learning environment for everystudent.
