The English proficiency of Dewey Hai Phong students continues to shine on large-scale academic platforms. At the TOEFL Primary Challenge 2026, three Dewey students delivered outstanding performances, earning 2 First Prizes and 1 Third Prize, officially advancing to the National Final Round.
Congratulations to our young champions:
Le The Tuan Kiet (5 Tunis) – First Prize, Grades 4–5
To Thi Thanh Truc (4 Tahiti) – First Prize, Grades 4–5
Nguyen Ngoc Thuy Duong (3 Dubai) – Third Prize, Grades 2–3
Notably, Tuan Kiet and Thanh Truc achieved a perfect score of 230/230 in the Listening and Reading sections.
For Tuan Kiet, Dewey’s bilingual learning environment played a key role in helping him feel confident entering the competition.
“At school, we have many opportunities to interact with international teachers, which helps us gradually develop natural English reflexes. I think that really helped me achieve a high score in the exam.”
Meanwhile, Thanh Truc shared that her achievement would not have been possible without the close guidance of her teachers. She especially expressed her gratitude to Ms. Liss and Mr. Tim, who continuously supported and motivated her throughout the preparation process. She also revealed that one of her key strategies was actively practicing with past exam papers to better understand the test structure and manage her time effectively.
These results also clearly reflect the effectiveness of the English program at Dewey Hai Phong. With the Common Core (U.S.) framework, English-taught subjects at the school not only help students develop comprehensive language proficiency across multiple disciplines but also emphasize critical thinking, communication skills, and the flexible use of English in both daily life and academic research projects.
Once again, congratulations to these three young explorers for conquering their first “treasures.” Parents are warmly invited to join The Dewey Schools in cheering them on as they continue their journey toward the TOEFL Primary Challenge National Final, which will take place this coming May.
