For an entire week, the E Lobby at Dewey buzzed like a lively “mini marketplace.” Student-run booths drew crowds of eager visitors — the hum of conversation, friendly sales pitches, and the rhythmic tapping of keyboards created a vivid picture of excitement. It was the “Business Arena”, an interdisciplinary Math–ICT project led by Grade 6 students — and a thrilling competition among young, aspiring entrepreneurs.

The “Business Arena” offered TDSers hands-on experience in researching, planning, calculating costs, and marketing products. Applying their knowledge of natural number operations, students worked out revenues, expenses, and profits, while ICT served as their powerful ally in financial planning, poster design, and website development for product promotion.

After intense class-level presentations, the six best teams advanced to the final showcase — a high-energy event where student “CEOs” confidently debated, presented their business results, and persuaded the judging panel with compelling data and smart sales strategies.

Of course, the entrepreneurial journey was not without challenges. Yet, as Ms. Đỗ Hương Thảo, ICT teacher and member of the judging panel, shared, “A business loss doesn’t mean a project failure. It’s an opportunity for students to analyze, reflect, and grow stronger.” Through this project, Math and ICT knowledge stepped out of textbooks and into real life. Each booth became a miniature classroom where TDSers practiced logical thinking, technological skills, and teamwork.

After six weeks of hard work, Diệu Linh (6Avignon) reflected, “Running our own booth helped me appreciate the value of money and effort. Every piece of customer feedback was a chance to improve our product and service. I also realized that communication and persuasion are true arts — helping us develop our soft skills.”
The “Business Arena” not only turned numbers into meaningful stories but also inspired young Dewey entrepreneurs to explore, innovate, and learn by doing — just as true business leaders do.
