During the second week of Open Day, parents once again had the opportunity to become “classmates” with their children at Dewey. While the first week was marked by dynamic and academically rich English lessons, the second week offered parents deeper insights into Dewey’s experiential learning approach through Vietnamese subjects.

Here, parents were taken on a nostalgic journey back to their own school days—revisiting familiar knowledge through an entirely new lens: exploring mathematical concepts through multi-sensory experiences where hands, voice, and mind work in harmony; learning Vietnamese literature through poetry writing and drama performances; discovering history by creating slides and presentation posters. Each class, each experience at Dewey is like a tiny seed sowing a love for learning and curiosity in every student.

Participating in her two children’s classes, Ms. Đặng Thu Hương, parent of students from 2Busan and EY Mercury, shared, “When exploring Dewey’s curriculum, I hoped my children would not only master English but also stay deeply connected to their Vietnamese roots. What I value most about Dewey is that the school doesn’t teach languages merely as subjects, but as tools for thinking and communication—helping students develop lifelong learning skills and adaptability in a multicultural environment. My children naturally expand their bilingual vocabulary through experiences, becoming more confident and proactive learners every day.”

The second week of Open Day reaffirmed the quality and direction of Dewey’s bilingual education environment—where students develop both language competencies in a balanced and complementary way. Vietnamese serves as a solid foundation that nurtures identity and cultural pride, while English opens doors to global knowledge and opportunities. Growing up in Dewey’s bilingual environment equips students with the confidence and readiness to integrate and shine on their journey toward becoming global citizens.
