After two days of intense competition, Phạm Bảo Khánh and Nguyễn Như Khôi (8Torun) proudly claimed the Championship Title at the Olympia International Speech and Debate Championship (OISDC) – one of the largest and most prestigious debate and public speaking tournaments in Vietnam.

Competing across six thrilling rounds in the Public Forum category, the TDSers demonstrated remarkable confidence, composure, and intellectual curiosity. From logical reasoning and sharp rebuttals to seamless teamwork, they proved that debate is not merely a contest of arguments, but a journey of cultivating critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and personal growth.
In the grand final, Bảo Khánh and Như Khôi tackled a particularly challenging motion:
“The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland should rejoin the European Union.”
As the Opposition team, the two debaters showcased deep insights into European politics, economics, and identity in the post-Brexit era. They argued that after leaving the EU, the UK has continued to maintain robust trade relations with EU member states while regaining autonomy in legal and economic policymaking. Moreover, no longer bound by the EU’s free movement regulations, the UK can now take a more proactive stance in immigration control, border management, and national security.
With compelling arguments and unwavering confidence until the final moment, Bảo Khánh and Như Khôi won over the judges and proudly secured the highest title of the competition. This victory is a well-deserved reward for their hard work, perseverance, and passion throughout the tournament.
Congratulations to our two talented debaters! Beyond medals and trophies, Dewey celebrates your courage, intellect, and the true Dewey spirit—that of young global citizens who dare to think, dare to speak up, and continuously grow through every experience.
