Recently, the selection exams for the Math, Literature, and English Academic Teams took place with great enthusiasm at The Dewey Schools Tây Hồ Tây. This important round aims to identify outstanding students, nurture their passion for learning, and build a strong academic foundation, preparing TDSers to confidently take on competitions both at home and abroad.

This year’s selection tests were highly differentiated according to student ability, assessing not only foundational knowledge and application skills but also encouraging independent thinking and the development of individual strengths.

Speaking about the vision for establishing the Academic Teams, Mr. Dương Hồng Phúc – Director of the Vietnamese Academic Program for Secondary School – emphasized: “The school envisions the Academic Teams as a challenging learning environment where students can practice at a higher level while cultivating their passion for key academic disciplines such as Math, Literature, and English. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in prestigious competitions such as IKMC, ASMO, World Scholar’s Cup, and TOEFL Challenge, as well as national contests organized by local wards, school clusters, or the Hanoi Department of Education and Training.”

The Academic Team curriculum has been carefully developed by The Dewey Schools’ Educational Research and Pedagogical Council (ERPC) to provide students with a solid foundation of knowledge and skills. Designed to closely align with the mainstream curriculum, it expands and deepens classroom learning, allowing students to specialize while maintaining balance in their overall studies. The school especially prioritizes assigning experienced teachers with proven achievements in coaching talented students to lead the teams. These teachers not only serve as academic mentors but also as trusted companions, guiding students to refine their skills and enter competitions with confidence.

The Academic Teams are not only a launching pad for TDSers to conquer prestigious awards, but more importantly, they equip students with knowledge, resilience, and confidence to face greater challenges on their journey ahead.
