Leaving behind the hustle and bustle of city life, the young campers of Wonderkid Summer Camp immersed themselves in the lush greenery of Chimi Farm (Tay Ho, Hanoi) during their final field trip. Energized by the fresh air and tranquil setting, the children were all excitement from the early morning, ready to “grab their backpacks and go!”

After a night of rain, the entire farm garden seemed refreshed, donning a vibrant new look full of life. The children cheered with joy at the sight of heavy fruit clusters hanging from the trees and fresh, tender vegetable beds. Transformed into “little farmers,” the campers eagerly took on a series of tasks—from collecting eggs and picking grapes to harvesting vegetables. They carefully observed the instructors demonstrating how to tell ripe fruit from unripe ones and how to pick them properly without harming the plants. Some even excitedly shared their plans to bring today’s “harvest” home as gifts for their parents!

Beyond harvesting, the campers also had the chance to care for adorable animals—creatures they usually only see in books or on screens. With fascination and joy, they gently petted and fed sheep, goats, and rabbits, delighting in their cute and curious reactions.

More than just a fun trip, this outing offered the children valuable lessons in hard work and perseverance. They gained a deeper understanding of different types of produce and the origins of the delicious food they enjoy every day. The experience nurtured their appreciation for plants and animals and fostered gratitude for the efforts of farmers. Along the way, their communication and teamwork skills grew, as did their love for nature and awareness of environmental protection.

Let’s take a look back with Dewey at some of the most heartwarming moments of these “little farmers” during their unforgettable green field trip!
