Over the past two weeks, Breakthrough Summer Camp has offered campers a wealth of unforgettable experiences. True to its spirit as a “Leadership Camp,” every activity was carefully designed to unlock leadership potential, strengthen resilience, and help students “level up” through essential global citizenship skills.
In the life skills modules, campers learned to manage their emotions, set personal goals, and foster positive relationships. A particular highlight was the debate class—an engaging platform for students to express critical thinking on topical issues such as: “Should students wear uniforms to school?”, “Cultural integration: Opportunity or challenge?”, and “Should traditional culture be a compulsory school subject?” Using the CRET model (Claim – Reason – Evidence – Tie-in), students practiced crafting coherent arguments, using compelling evidence, and engaging in logical rebuttals.
“After the debate sessions, I became more confident presenting in front of an audience. I learned how to identify keywords, filter important information, and present without relying on notes. We also learned to truly listen and respect each other’s opinions so we could grow and improve together,” shared Bảo Ngân, a Breakthrough camper.
Beyond the academic sessions, the camp offered a vibrant playground for students to release their energy through sports like basketball, dodgeball, and badminton. They also explored self-expression through dynamic dance lessons that combined body language with musical appreciation.
Learning wasn’t confined to the classroom. Campers broadened their perspectives and nurtured their spirit of discovery through real-world excursions. A recent trip to the historic Hỏa Lò Prison site gave them a deeper understanding of Vietnam’s past and the unwavering courage of its revolutionary heroes.
