Recently, the 8th-grade TDSers had an engaging project presentation on the theme of Literature—the pathway to exploring real life. True to its name, the literature project presentation was where students shared their knowledge about realistic literary works by renowned authors such as Nam Cao, Ngo Tat To, and others. With the creative abilities of the students, famous literary works were vividly, attractively, and intimately recreated on stage.
“I find that the products of each group are all good and interesting, but I’m most impressed with the fashion show based on the work “Viec lang” because of how well my friends presented and the beautiful costumes they made,” shared Gia Han – 8 Perth, about the impressive fashion show presentation of the 8D LIT 2B students.
Through costumes and tableaus, the characters and “harmful cultural practices” of the work “Viec lang” were vividly recreated. TDSer Mai Phuong, who excellently presented an essay on Ngo Tat To’s work “Viec lang” and was also one of the “designers” for the fashion show, shared: “I feel very happy to have completed this fashion show. Learning through the project not only helps us delve deep and express thoughts about the works but also allows us to do things we have never tried before.”
This project has been thoroughly researched by student teams, and they presented their findings creatively through various forms such as short plays, short films, fashion performances, essays, etc., with the aim of bringing closer to readers realistic literary works such as “Viec lang,” “Notes from a Dead House,” “Tu cach mo,” and others. In addition to this, students have also honed new skills such as scriptwriting, directing, cinematography, acting, fashion design, and more.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy, the Head of the Social Sciences Department for Middle School, remarked, “Project presentations like this are organized with the goal of helping students enhance their self-directed learning skills. Furthermore, it provides an opportunity for students to experience various tasks and professions and find direction for their future careers.”
