OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES

The Dewey Schools has integrated the Life-skills & Extracurricular Education Program of Outward Bound Vietnam, bringing students a value-creating and interesting experience. Outward Bound Vietnam is a member of the Outward Bound network operating in 37 countries and serving more than 200,000 participants each year.

The challenges in Outward Bound programs are designed for a small group of 14 participants, promoting their teamwork and communication skills. At the same time, students have time to reflect on themselves to draw lessons, plan their future actions, and understand their strengths and weaknesses.

Students will be equipped with outdoor skills and understand the importance of environmental conservation through active engagement in the wilderness, hiking and setting up a shelter, etc. Besides, students are also introduced to “Leave No Trace” principles to minimize the impacts on wildlife during the experience.

Quan điểm giáo dục:

Giáo dục trong Nhà trường phổ thông đem đến cho học sinh sự phát triển toàn diện về THỂ CHẤT VÀ TINH THẦN. Nội dung kiến thức của các môn học đưa đến cho học sinh phải ngang tầm với xã hội các em được sinh ra và trưởng thành. Phương pháp tổ chức dạy học trong Nhà trường là phương pháp của Nhà trường hiện đại, coi nội dung tri thức là sản phẩm mỗi học sinh phải tự làm ra cho chính mình bằng một hệ thống VIỆC LÀM, mỗi VIỆC LÀM được thiết kế thành một chuỗi THAO TÁC, theo trật tự chặt chẽ, ai làm cũng được, làm đâu chắc đấy, làm ra sản phẩm tất yếu và tốn ít thời gian nhất. Nguyên tắc vàng của nghiệp vụ sư phạm trong Nhà trường là “không đem đến cho học sinh sản phẩm làm sẵn, muốn có gì học sinh phải tự làm lấy cho chính mình”. Giáo dục trong trường Phổ thông không so sánh học sinh này với học sinh khác, coi mỗi học sinh là một cá thể độc lập, được tôn trọng và phát triển an toàn. Mục tiêu cơ bản của giáo dục trong trường Phổ thông là tạo cho học sinh có được các năng lực giải quyết các nhiệm vụ của cuộc sống trong mọi tình huống có thể, tạo cho học sinh có được năng lực tự học và tự hoàn thiện bản thân.
