Four weeks of exciting experiences at the Wonderkids Summer Camp concluded with an emotional closing ceremony. Together, the campers created unforgettable moments through the “Golden Bell Challenge” competition and showcased their creativity in the Visual Arts and MDE Science exhibition.
The first impression for parents upon entering the exhibition hall was the unique, one-of-a-kind products created by the campers. From animal paintings made from leaves and vibrant portraits to scientific products, all showcased the children’s personalities, creativity, and rich imaginations. Each piece was a unique mark of the children, leaving parents amazed and proud.
The closing ceremony began with energetic dance performances by the EY Sun and EY Moon classes. The children confidently and professionally performed to the music of Waka Waka on stage. The atmosphere of the closing ceremony became more vibrant than ever as the “Golden Bell Challenge” competition commenced. Twenty-six talented contestants from the Wonderkids Summer Camp entered the competition with enthusiasm and determination. Parents arrived early to cheer and encourage the young participants.
The competition was intense, with 26 contestants evenly matched. Halfway through, many contestants were still standing strong. The children were highly focused and confidently provided accurate answers. The difficulty of the questions gradually increased. By question 19, only five contestants remained on the stage. With skill and teamwork in the “Ball Passing” rescue challenge, parents and children successfully “rescued” all eliminated contestants. Cheers erupted, and joy spread across the contestants’ faces.
The competition continued with high drama. The entire hall held its breath as only two contestants remained on stage. Scoring continuously with quick and accurate answers, Tran Bao Khoi from the EY Moon class emerged as the champion of the Golden Bell. “I didn’t think I would become the winner. The English lessons at the summer camp helped me become more confident and answer the questions more easily,” Bao Khoi shared. The runner-up was Doan Minh Tam (EY Moon class), and the third place went to Nguyen Tat Khoi (EY Moon class).
The “Golden Bell Challenge” competition provided a valuable platform for children to confidently communicate and practice language reflexes, as 100% of the questions were in English. The encouragement and support from teachers and parents throughout the competition helped the children realize that winning is not the most important thing. Instead, it’s about having the confidence to overcome their own challenges and demonstrating their performance skills on stage. Today, all contestants were winners.
The closing ceremony of the Wonderkids Summer Camp concluded with many emotions and memorable moments. The campers had a meaningful and joyful summer. “This is the second year my child has participated in the summer camp at Dewey. Each year, the summer camp brings something new; the curriculum is in-depth yet engaging and creative, matching the children’s interests and passions. We hope that the school will continue to offer such beneficial programs every year. Our family is always ready for the children to participate,” shared Nguyen Mai Anh, a Wonderkids Summer Camp parent.
