The year-end parent-teacher meeting is one of the important events at Dewey. This meeting provides an opportunity for parents to hear teachers’ evaluations and feedback on each student’s academic performance, reflecting on the hard work and efforts of the students throughout the school year.
Unlike traditional parent-teacher meetings, at The Dewey Schools, besides orientation meetings, parents also have the opportunity for direct 1:1 meetings with teachers in subjects such as Literature, Math, and English. Each meeting, although only 15 minutes long, embodies the dedication, care, and concern of the school’s teaching staff.
These meetings are a chance for parents, teachers, and students to come together and share their experiences over the past year. Nguyen Thi Nga, a parent who has accompanied her children for eight years at Dewey, shared: “Every time I attend these meetings, I can feel the dedication of the teachers. They not only point out the strengths and weaknesses of the students, helping parents understand the skills their children need to improve in the upcoming period, but they also understand each child’s personality. For my children, each school day is a happy day.” Through these discussions and listening to parents’ thoughts and aspirations, teachers can propose suitable development directions for the students, while also supporting and accompanying them to achieve their future academic goals.
The 1:1 parent-teacher meetings at The Dewey Schools are invaluable moments that strengthen the bond between families and the school. Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, a parent of a 9Copenhagen student, shared: “Typically, the year-end parent-teacher meeting is an opportunity for me to express my gratitude to the teachers for their close support in my child’s education. I am deeply appreciative of the teachers’ dedication and the school’s commitment to educating the students. Seeing my child excitedly talk about their classes each day when they come home, I feel completely assured and confident that this is the right and beloved learning environment for my child.”
These meetings are more than just a discussion; they are a journey of love, where each student is understood, supported, and accompanied to make continuous progress and gain confidence in their journey of knowledge discovery.
