The Information Technology (IT) and STEM Expo, hosted by the District Education and Training Department for the school year 2023-2024, marks Bac Tu Liem district’s 10th anniversary since its establishment. At this Expo, The Dewey Schools’ booth garnered significant attention, showcasing over 30 scientific products meticulously crafted by Dewey students themselves.
As a pioneering school in Vietnam in Design Thinking, along with the method of Learning by Doing, The Dewey Schools create an environment for students to access and experience STEM lessons integrated with the curriculum in collaboration with Mount Vernon – one of the top 10 most innovative schools in the United States. Students are encouraged to come up with creative ideas, innovate, and design products to solve real-world problems while studying innovative subjects such as American Studies: Digital Art, Visual Arts, Invention-Design, and Creation…
The “Made by TDSers” product booth offers a variety of forms and applies interdisciplinary knowledge such as Science, Mathematics, IT, and MDE … Notable are products applying interactive virtual reality technology like Merge Cube, products in the science project such as the braille periodic table in the grade 7 science project, wooden lanterns, automated toys, etc. In addition, students were also enthusiastic about participating in activities experiencing robot control programming through mBlock Blocky and Makeblock applications on the “mini football field” in front of the booth.
During the festival, schools also had the opportunity to share experiences in applying IT and digital transformation. The Dewey Schools proudly introduced the Edufit SSM and Edufit Parents school management software, developed by the Edufit Education Corporation, which is undergoing digitization and continuous development in line with the advancements of the digital era 4.0. Mr. Nguyen Huu Hai, Deputy Head of the Education and Training Department of Bac Tu Liem district, commended and encouraged The Dewey Schools, expressing the hope that they would extend the reach of this product to numerous other schools.
The IT expo serves as an opportunity for networking, sharing, and learning experiences in accessing new technologies for IT applications in education and training. At the event, thousands of students from over 20 schools in the district had the opportunity to explore various exhibition booths. This experience not only enhanced their creative, logical, and critical thinking skills but also fostered teamwork and problem-solving abilities through hands-on research, exploration, and innovation.
