World Wars ended 76 years ago, however, the deep impression of the most brutal wars in human history does not easily fade away from our memory. To get an in-depth understanding of those remarkable historical events, the students in 8Sydney and 8Melbourne classes, together with their teachers at The Dewey Schools organized a seminar named ‘Unravelling war’.
In order for the historical messages to be effectively conveyed, our students incorporated facts about the war consequences into their hand-drawn caricature pictures and hand-made weapon models, etc. Thanks to that, they were able to memorize the significant events of the two World wars.
History is considered a ‘tough’ subject of which many students are ‘afraid’. However, for our Dewey students, learning through projects and hand-made ‘works’ enables them to draw meaningful historical lessons from their own perspectives.
Let’s take a look at the History class at The Dewey Schools to share the wonderful learning experiences with our students to reminisce about the phases that belong in the past of humanity.
