“Stepping into the shoes” as students at Dewey for a day during the Open House event, Parents had the opportunity to experience exciting classes, gaining a more realistic perspective and a better understanding of the subjects and educational methods at The Dewey Schools.
These classes also provided a special occasion for the school to transport Parents back to their own school days while fostering a sense of connection between Teachers, Parents, and Students.
Mrs. Kieu Thi Hong Thai, a parent of 2Jeddah student, expressed, “Today, I had the opportunity to participate in my child’s English class, and I was particularly impressed by the teacher’s eloquence and excellent pronunciation. The teacher conveyed information in an understandable manner, and it greatly helped the children absorb knowledge quickly and effectively.”
“Humanities is a challenging subject, with a broad range of topics that can potentially become monotonous for some students. However, Ms. JungHwa is an excellent teacher. Her guidance on reading books and exploring history is very relatable, making the students stay focused and interact fully. My child really enjoys this subject,” shared Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hoang Yen, a student’s Parent.
After participating in the “Performing Arts” class where TDSers got to “become singers” in the classroom, Mrs. Rim SunHe was deeply impressed. She said, “When I was in school, I never had the opportunity to experience this subject. After attending my child’s class, I find it a very interesting subject that nurtures artistic potential in every child. I really like this subject, and so does my daughter.”
Open House isn’t merely a day for parents to experience Dewey’s educational programs, but it’s also an opportunity for parents and teachers to share and encourage students, thereby motivating children to excel in their studies. The Dewey Schools sincerely appreciate all the Parents for taking the time to attend class with their children and hopefully in the future, we will have chances to collaborate in more events.
