Closing the 2023-2024 school year with the theme “Design Your World of Possibilities” The Dewey Schools has reached a significant milestone in its educational journey – the first generation of 12th-grade students has officially graduated, demonstrating maturity, resilience, and readiness for the next stage of their lives.
This graduating generation, embodying the qualities of Talent – Intelligence – Virtue, is a testament to the steadfast commitment to our educational philosophy.
Inspired by the educational reformer John Dewey’s philosophy that “Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself,” The Dewey Schools’ mission aims to empower Students with the knowledge and skills necessary to master global changes and become leaders who make positive impacts in their communities, wherever they may live. Regardless of their chosen path, Dewey students are always at the center of our pedagogical activities, benefiting from practical knowledge and American-standard educational methods while preserving the values and cultural essence of Vietnam.
Proud to be a school of Discovery, Creativity, and Impact, with eight years of experience in integrated education, The Dewey Schools steadily asserts its position by nurturing generations of Students who excel not only academically but also in character. The High School graduation milestone is not an endpoint but a journey of continuous learning and effort for each individual. At Dewey, Teachers are not just conveyors of knowledge but also special “friends” who impart lessons on life and interpersonal skills, inspiring Students to live meaningfully and improve themselves every day.
The achievements of today’s 12th-grade graduating Students are the result of their persistent and tireless efforts, coupled with the close, understanding support of their Teachers and specialists from Dewey University and Career Counseling Office. The Dewey Schools takes pride in the first generation of 12th-grade TDSers, who have strong academic foundations and have made a good impression on university admissions boards, earning prestigious global university scholarships in fields such as Business, Computer Science, Psychology, Arts, and Communication.
Outstanding Achievements of Dewey’s First Graduating Students:
- 100% of 12th-grade students achieved a perfect score of 10 in English on the national high school graduation exam (with an IELTS score of 6.5+).
- Students received scholarships from top domestic and international universities such as VinUni, Fulbright University, National Economics University, Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, University of Dundee (UK), University of Melbourne (Australia), Waseda University (Japan), and more.
- The average 12th-grade GPA was 8.8.
Reflecting on the journey, TDSer Chau Anh (12Dublin, Dewey Duong Kinh) proudly expressed gratitude to the “Dewey family” on graduation day: “I want to thank all the Teachers who have always been “gentle when appropriate, firm when necessary” with their diligent and passionate teaching. Thank you, Dewey, for giving us the opportunity to meet, explore, and become better versions of ourselves. Through each lesson and project activity, Dewey has helped us daily shape our dreams and directions. We know who we are, who we want to become, and what we are pursuing.”
Parents’ Satisfaction: A Testament to the School’s Educational Quality
Throughout the development milestones, The Dewey Schools has been honored to receive trust from both Parents and Students. At Dewey, Parents have shared in many significant “firsts” with their children: the first day of school, the first time witnessing their child win an award, the first time seeing their child confidently shine on a big stage, and countless other memorable “firsts” along the journey of growing up together. However, witnessing their child reach the milestone of High School graduation for the first time is an indescribably emotional moment for all Parents.
Ms. Thu Ha, mother of Nguyen Vu Ha Anh (12Madrid, Dewey Tay Ho Tay), emotionally shared during the 2023-2024 Graduation Ceremony: “I remember back in 2017, after visiting the school and listening to the representatives, despite some hesitation because Dewey was still a new school at that time, my family decided to place our trust in Dewey and chose it as our child’s “second home.” We hoped she would benefit from a safe, modern learning environment with progressive, proactive, and humane educational methods. Today, seeing her and her friends in their graduation gowns, marking a growth beyond parental expectations, I am even more confident in our family’s decision and proud of my child’s development at Dewey. Not once in the seven years of accompanying my child at Dewey have I regretted choosing this school. I always acknowledge that Ha Anh’s achievements today are largely thanks to the school’s dedication, the teachers, and all the staff who have wholeheartedly nurtured her.”
The first generation of 12th-grade students at The Dewey Schools has officially graduated. We hope that all the knowledge and skills acquired at Dewey will be an infinite motivation for them to continue “venturing into the vast ocean,” ready to pursue their dreams and become the best versions of themselves. Wherever they go, always remember that Dewey will forever be the “common home” preserving their youth and growth journey.
