💡 “Learning is not just about reading books, but also about practicing and experiencing.” – That’s a statement that TDSers have realized through a recent workshop with speakers who are professors from the University of Sydney, Australia (UTS).
🍃 On the morning of March 23rd, students from class 9Copenhagen had the opportunity to explore the theme of “Sustainable Science” with Professor Scott Chadwick – Deputy Dean (Teaching and Learning) of the School of Mathematics and Physics. TDSers gained a deeper understanding of the role of science in addressing global issues and seeking solutions for a greener and more sustainable future.
Student Nguyen Khanh An (9Copenhagen) shared after the workshop: “I felt very interested; I learned a lot from this seminar. Professor Scott explained and spoke very clearly, conveying information effectively. Besides, he also provided examples and practical solutions, real-life examples to address the issues.”
🌐 In the afternoon of the same day, students in the Scholarship Hunters Club had the opportunity to become Advertisers at the Advertising Workshop with speaker Susie Khamis – Deputy Head of International Department (School of Arts & Social Sciences). They learned the secrets of creating successful advertising campaigns and practiced making advertising posters using only paper and watercolors. In just 10 minutes, TDSers produced impressive works, receiving a “shower” of praise from experts. Not only did they gain new knowledge, but TDSers also created memorable moments with friends and teachers.
Speaker Susie Khamis enthusiastically expressed, “Dewey students are truly talented; they are dynamic and skilled young generations. Students asked very practical questions related to the content shared. Moreover, although they had only 10 minutes to complete the challenge, their products surprised me with the creativity in their ideas.”
👍 This is one of many events organized by the University – Career Counseling Office (UCCO) – a unit always accompanying TDS students on the journey of acquiring knowledge, equipping practical experiences, and nurturing a comprehensive, full view of all fields in society to be ready to “venture into the vast ocean.
