Successful end-of-year review meeting
On May 31, the Dewey Parents Association (DPA) successfully held its meeting under the theme “Accompanying and Creating: A Dynamic School Year.” This annual summary provided parents with an opportunity to review the achievements of TDSers over the past academic year and suggest improvements for the upcoming year.
The 2023-2024 school year, themed “Design Your World of Possibilities,” concluded with numerous prominent activities and events that left a lasting impression on parents, students, and teachers at Dewey. These vibrant events fostered a positive learning environment, encouraged TDSers’ participation, and strengthened the bond between parents, students, and the school.
Outstanding achievements of Dewey and TDSERs
During the DPA meeting, impressive statistics from the 2023–2024 academic year were highlighted. Dewey successfully organized 23 events to connect families and the school, including Back to School, Family Day, and Winter Concert. In its pursuit of providing an ideal educational environment for children’s holistic development, Dewey continuously creates a cohesive space where parents can accompany their children on their growth journey.
The 2023–2024 academic year also marked significant achievements for TDSers, with a total of 196 awards, including 149 domestic and 47 international awards. Twenty-six Dewey students received Talent, Mastery, and IB MYP scholarships. Additionally, 10 out of 23 12th-grade students secured valuable scholarships from prestigious domestic and international universities. These impressive figures are a testament to the persistent efforts of Dewey’s teachers and students throughout the year.
A noteworthy milestone was reached on April 12, 2024, when The Dewey Schools Tay Ho Tay was officially recognized as an IB International School, authorized to teach the IB DP program. To achieve this, the school met over 80 stringent standards and practices set by the IB organization in areas such as philosophy, organizational structure, and curriculum. This two-year journey reflects the dedication and efforts of the school’s leadership, teachers, and staff.
The DPA meeting also allowed parents to reflect on the growth journey of TDSers. Like the challenging yet meaningful voyage of dolphins, this journey has helped students develop themselves and become better versions of themselves. It has been a journey not only of academic discovery but also of comprehensive development in intellect and life skills through extracurricular activities, the “End-of-Year Lessons” series, and community projects.
Joining together for growth in the new school year
In his speech at the meeting, Nguyen Quang Minh, Chairman of the Dewey Parents Association, shared: “Over the past year, we have worked together to achieve the goals set for the 2023-2024 school year. This success is a result of the school’s, teachers’, and parents’ willingness to listen, share, and understand. With the dedicated people here today, I am confident in Dewey’s continued strong development. Once again, congratulations on a successful school year, and I wish the school and students an even more successful year ahead!”
The Dewey Schools sincerely thank the enthusiastic contributions and support of parents, students, teachers, and staff throughout the past school year. Together, we will create a spectacular 2024–2025 school year filled with new opportunities, confidence, and triumphs!
