Which academic programs at VinUniversity (VinUni) could be the best fit for TDSers?
How is university life different from high school?
What does it take to create a compelling college application for the VinUniversity Admissions Committee?
Eleventh and twelfth graders at The Dewey Schools recently sought out answers to these questions through an immersive experience at VinUni Open Day.
During the event, TDSers participated in one-on-one advisory sessions with VinUni admissions representatives, receiving in-depth answers to their questions about admissions, fields of study, and future career pathways. Additionally, an academic showcase allowed TDSers to explore a variety of disciplines and innovative projects. Exhibits from 43 student-led startup companies, alongside representatives from Asian countries like Brunei and South Korea, offered practical insights into career trends and opportunities for those interested in entrepreneurship.
A highlight of the day was the chance for TDSers to become “VinUni students” through 34 experiential classes across 15 disciplines, including health sciences, business administration, and information technology. Here, they engaged in hands-on lessons, explored course content, experienced teaching methodologies, and interacted with expert faculty members. A memorable moment came when TDSers posed for a selfie with Professor David Bangsbreg, President of VinUni , which he later shared on his personal social media.
Phương Linh, an 11th grader from Orlando class, shared, “The part that impressed me most was the series of informational sessions about undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Through heartfelt presentations by the faculty and current students at VinUni, we received thorough guidance on scholarships, academic programs, and career prospects. The warm welcome from Khánh An, a Dewey alumna, made us feel incredibly proud and inspired by the scholarship achievements of TDSers.”
This visit provided TDSers with a wealth of knowledge, skills, and experience, equipping them to make informed choices about university applications and career paths aligned with their abilities and interests. These foundational insights will empower them to tackle new challenges on their educational journeys ahead.
